"Now, regardless of the circumstances, the results of the elections will be summarized, and the President of Ukraine elected by the Ukrainian citizens will be announced despite any manipulations and wishes", - stated Oleksandr Lavrynovych, First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in the program at Radio "Melodia", commenting upon the consequences of adoption of amendments to the Law of Ukraine on presidential elections by the Parliament.
Oleksandr Lavrynovych reminded of the fact that the acting President had imposed a veto on this Law, and explained that the document would be published with the signature of the Head of the Parliament. "The President did not sign the Law and forwarded it to The Verkhovna Rada. It will be published with the signature of the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the nearest time", - stated the politician.
Then Oleksandr Lavrynovych was asked whether a new Law on the presidential lections would give an opportunity to elect the Head of State supported by the citizens. The First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed: "The possibility of abuse was considerably reduced, and maximum efforts were taken to prevent possible disruption of the elections". However, he agreed that the election campaign would be complicated.
Oleksandr Lavrynovych believes that "we will have a President elected by the citizens, and nobody will be able to change the results. At least, a great many electors will protect their choice".
